NMS Notification Configuration Toolgraphical user interface

The NMS Notification Configuration Tool is part of CORE's suite of web-based tools for the satellite industry. These online applications enable users to test, verify, monitor and troubleshoot satellite equipment without the need for personnel at remote locations.

The NMS Notification Configuration Tool enables administrative personnel to set alert levels for predefined but modifiable notifications for CORE satellite network equipment. Administrators can also select to send SMS messages for individual message as well as color-code each message level.

The Configuration Tool includes all possible alerts, alarms or messages that any CORE hardware can encounter and displays them within the tool. Once set, the system uses this information to send notifications when an event has occurred. The information is sent to a master NMS database as well as the web-based NMS Viewer application, which can be viewed from any location within the satellite network.

To view a demo of this application, press the Launch Demo button at the bottom of the page. This demo application shows some of the capabilities of the application. Here are some tips to help you with the demo:

The Configuration Tool can be resized by resizing the application window.

Saving has been disabled. Changing settings in the Configuration Tool will not change the appearance of messages in the NMS Viewer application.

The "Acknowledge New Data" section distinguishes new messages from historical messages in the NMS Viewer. If set, new messages will appear in the color set within the "Incoming Color" section of the Configuration Tool. Enabling this will also require the user to acknowledge each new message that arrives in the NMS Viewer. If not set, incoming messages appear as their normal color. To see an example of this, view the NMS Viewer application demo.
